BSc in Environmental Sciences and MSc in Hydrology from the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Freiburg, Germany. Currently a PhD student in the Department of Geography at Penn State University, USA
Between 2017 and 2022 I participated as a spatial analyst in the vegetation mapping project at the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) in the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador, where I used remote sensing techniques, paired with statistical classification methods, to produce maps of invasive and endemic plant species in Galápagos
In this academic year, two peer-reviewed publications with Galápagos data came out, and in one of them, I am the lead author: Carrión-Klier et al., 2022 and Hunt et al., 2023
The Island Systems Integration Consortium (ISIC), World Summit on Island Sustainability by the Galápagos Science Center (GSC), Symposium Science in Galápagos (I-III) by the Galápagos National Park Directorate (GNPD).
In the Charles Darwin Foundation's (CDF's) yearly open-house events, I have presented my work to around 2000 members from the local community. With the help of the CDF's educational department, I have prepared workshops on mapping and orientation skills for high school students.
Through digital media channels, I have published aspects of my work in blog articles and videos and I have been interviewed for TV, radio and newspaper stories.
